Alexander George

Alexander Ritter George became Executive Assistant to the Dean of the College of Music at the University of Colorado Boulder in January 2015. In this capacity, he provides administrative support to the dean, particularly in areas related to long-range planning, program review and accreditation. He also helps facilitate communications for the dean. Previously, he served on the faculty at Metropolitan State University of Denver and as Orchestra Manager for the Denver Young Artists Orchestra Association.

Dr. George’s writings on horn literature and pedagogy have been published in The Horn Call, The Horn Player, and The Instrumentalist.  He has presented clinics for the Aspen Music Festival and School, Colorado Music Educators Association, and El Sistema Venezuela.  As an orchestral musician, he has performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Colorado Ballet Orchestra, and National Repertory Orchestra.

George earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in horn performance and pedagogy from the University of Colorado Boulder, a Master of Music degree from Duquesne University, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Curtis Institute of Music.
